Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway Project (RA/140)

The Project consists of the Design, Build, Completion and Maintenance of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway Project (Main Link), which spans across Kuwait Bay between Kuwait City and the Subiyah area. Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway Project (SJSC) is one of the largest and most prestigious transport infrastructure endeavors in Kuwait and the region. Causeway path for Al-Sabiyah connection (Main causeway), approx 37.5 km in length. The project starts from Al-shuwaikh connecting to Al Gazali highway intersection and Gamal Abdel Nasser Street; passing by Joun Al-Kuwait, north to Al-Sabiyah. Approx length is 37.5 km with 3 lanes per direction, plus an emergency lane per each. In addition to construction of two artificial islands, each is 30 ka i.e. 0.3 km². Each island contains buildings for traffic and emergency services, causeway authorities for maintenance control, gas station, and a boat dock. It also includes main navigation causeway of 23 m in height and with 120 m navigation opening dedicated for passing ships. Causeway path for Doha connection (Main causeway), approx 9 km in length. The target is to dissolve traffic congestions from Al-shuwaikh area, especially on Al Gazali highway. Such congestions are caused by large trucks, entering to and exiting from Al-shuwaikh port, they should be diverted to Doha road.
